We aim to disrupt the outdated ways of working in the legal industry to enrich the lives of our lawyers and their clients.

What led us here

The founders are all consultant lawyers who have grown disillusioned with the current way of working in the legal industry. At different points in our careers we have found that we do not feel comfortable in the traditional legal firm structure, nor with the slow pace with which the industry embraces innovation.

This has led us to developing Boldr, an organisation focused on empowering consultants by giving them a voice, a way to break free from the restraints of billable hours and a focus on improving innovative practices and user experience.

By creating a tokenised ecosystem we create new ways for lawyers and clients to collaborate. We can reward loyalty, innovative behaviour and entrepreneurial thinking in ways not done before. Our lawyers can propose and influence key decisions for the organisation through a decentralised voting system.

Lawyers are people who have so much more value to give than simply hitting billing targets. Clients deserve more than simply being seen as means to an end.

We believe that this approach heralds a new, fairer, healthier and more sustainable way of working in the legal industry.

Meet the founders

  • Daniel Jenkins

    FOUNDER

Dan is a consultant solicitor with a passion for legal technology. After discovering cryptocurrencies in 2021 Dan set about thinking how its application could revolutionise the legal industry.

Having experienced first hand the frustration of trying to change a law firm’s way of working as a junior lawyer, he is determined to build a new way of giving everyone a voice, regardless of seniority.

Dan also believes that the legal industry has to do more to encourage lawyers with entrepreneurial and innovative characteristics by changing measurable value from billable hours. He hopes that, by offering incentives outside of “normal” lawyering, Boldr can nurture those who feel out of place in a traditional law firm.

  • Matthew Dunne

    FOUNDER

Matt is a solicitor who believes that there’s a better way to deliver legal services.  He wants to build a legal business which is fit for the modern world and delivers an unrivalled experience for both lawyers and clients alike.

As a lawyer, Matt has spent 15 years solving complex problems for organisations both big and small. With a nerdy interest in legal compliance and regulation, Matt is well placed to ensure that Boldr stays the right side of the law in its efforts to change the face of the legal sector!

There was a time when Matt was so jaded by the legal sector that he quit the law all together to start a marketing-tech startup. He crowdfunded some initial investment and grew the business from zero – always learning from the many mistakes he made along the way. Now back in the law and part of the Boldr team, Matt can’t wait to deliver some much-needed innovation to this historically stuffy profession.
